UC San Diego Health System's Clinical Strategic Plan

In 2007, UC San Diego Medical Center, now UC San Diego Health System, developed a five-year operational strategic plan. The plan took a “balanced scorecard” approach based on our existing six pillars of excellence - people, quality, service, innovation, growth and finance. It put UC San Diego Health System on a solid path for achieving clinical excellence.

Since then, many things have changed both externally and internally, and leadership saw a need to update the clinical strategic plan. Stakeholders from across our enterprise met several times to produce forward-thinking strategies and tactics. The end result is a clear and thoughtful 2011 clinical strategic plan that will guide us for the next three years.
